Blobtopia: A Journey in Coding Joy
Lately, I’ve had a revelation: school and work have completely taken over, and I haven’t been able to code purely for the joy of it. So, in a fit of rebellion against my overpacked schedule, I’ve started a little side project. Will I actually manage to keep it up? Who knows! But thus, Blobtopia was born—a challenge to myself, an experiment, and a dynamic event simulator, all rolled into one.
The Origin Story
“In the beginning, there were the Blobs. From these humble blobs, societies formed. But alas, these societies were stagnant, devoid of the rich connections that bring life to existence. So, I bestowed relationships upon the blobs. Yet, how could these blobs connect without the gift of events, choices, and consequences? This, too, was not enough. Imagine—could a single consequence affect two blobs identically? Absurd! And so, I created statistics, imbuing them into each blob and society, shaping them to respond uniquely to the whims of fate.”
With this sacred process, I continue to breathe life into Blobtopia. Every feature, every bit of code, brings me closer to the digital utopia (or dystopia?) that lies ahead. Check out the project on GitHub here.
Despite my best intentions to avoid it, I know that as Blobtopia grows, there’s always the danger of it turning into spaghetti code. But hey, that’s the destiny of every large project, right?
Your Suggestions?
So, what are your thoughts? What other features could I add to this land of Blobs? Suggestions are welcome!
I will try to keep here updated but I can't promise anything.
See you again soon (hopefully)
